Free Carrier (FCA)

Free Carrier (FCA): Free Carrier (FCA) is an incoterm that means the seller is responsible for most or all of the export details at origin and the buyer is responsible for destination operations and some select origin operations.

This term basically indicates that the seller is responsible for the goods until they are unloaded from the seller’s vehicle and transferred to a designated carrier at an agreed upon location (typically a warehouse, airport, or container terminal where the carrier operates). The seller must carry out any export formalities and the buyer carries out any import formalities.
