Cubic Meters

A cubic meter (cbm) is a unit of volume measurement that the shippers used to determine weight charges. The total cbm (in meters) can be calculated by multiplying the length (L), width (W), and height (H) of a parcel. For cargo containing items of various sizes, repeat the calculation for each size and total up the results. In general, there are three major cbm formula types for three different kinds of parcels:

cbm formula for regular parcels = L x W x H

cbm formula for irregular parcels = Longest L x Longest W x Longest H

cbm formula for cylindrical parcels = π x r² x h
