Partner Government Agency

A PGA (Partner Government Agency) refers to a U.S. government agency that cooperates with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to administer and control the importation of commodities into the U.S. territory.

Permits or other supplemental paperwork are frequently required to import products that are regulated by PGAs. The importer is thus ultimately responsible to be aware of the exact documentation required to import a good into the United States. Some of the most well-known PGAs include the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).
