Ocean freight market update

China – North America/European

  • Rate changes: The freight rate decreased for the second half of September.
  • Market changes: The strike of American railway workers has been called off, and the congestion of American ports is expecting to be alleviated. The ports on the west coast of Canada are seriously congested, which affects the port activity and delivery. Port congestion in Europe is still serious, especially in Rotterdam and Hamburg.
  • Recommendation: China’s National Day holiday is approaching, and most warehouses in China will have holiday arrangements. Please plan the shipment (dispatch) of goods with your suppliers in advance to avoid delays.

Air freight/express market update

China – North America/European

  • Rate changes: For the second half of September, the freight rate of Freight via JL (Economy) increased. The freight rate of Air Charter Express US (Premium) decreased significantly. The freight rate of Express EU & US (Standard) decreased.
  • Recommendation: China’s National Day holiday is approaching, and most warehouses in China will have holiday arrangements. Please plan the shipment (dispatch) of goods with your suppliers in advance to avoid delays. 

China – Oceania

  • Rate changes:  For the second half of September, the freight rates of DPEX (Economy) had a minor decline in their Australia 0.5-10 kg sections.
  • Recommendation: China’s National Day holiday is approaching, and most warehouses in China will have holiday arrangements. Please plan the shipment (dispatch) of goods with your suppliers in advance to avoid delays.
