Emergency Bunker Surcharge

Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) is a fee introduced by carriers on top of BAF (Bunker Adjustment Factor), as a measurement to cope with a higher-than-expected market fuel price increase. It varies according to the trade lane in which the freight is going and the transported container types.
