A container yard (CY), represents a place in a port or terminal area dedicated to receiving, holding, and delivering loaded containers. A CY is commonly used to transfer loaded containers onto a ship and/or to keep unloaded containers from one mode of transport or vessel to another (i.e. truck, ship, rail).
